GCAHA 2024 WORKING WESTERN HIGH POINT AWARD RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
The Green Country Arabian Horse Association Year End High Point Award Program is open to GCAHA members, either AHA or associate members who participate in 2 of the 3 shows in 2024.
Point calculations are done based on Rider/Horse pair for horse awards.
For dual judged shows, only 1 judge placing will be included.
The placings that are included for points are First thru Sixth.
1st- 6 points
2nd- 5 points
3rd- 4 points
4th- 3 points
5th- 2 points
6th- 1 point
*Any classes with more than 7 horses will receive 2 additional points for participating in the large class.
For example, 1st place in a 7 horse class would receive 8 points. 7th place in a 7 horse class would receive 2 points. *
The classes that are included in the program are:
1. All cattle classes
2. Ranch Horse Riding
3. Ranch Horse Rail Pleasure
4. Ranch Horse Conformation
5. Reining Classes
6. Ranch Trail/Western Trail
The following categories will be awarded Year End High Point Awards:
1. Versatility Working Western Horse-
Champion and Reserve
2. Junior Rider-
Champion and Reserve
3. All-Around Amateur Rider –
Champion and Reserve
4. Arabian High Point Open Working Western Horse –
Champion and Reserve
5. Arabian High Point Amateur Working Western Horse –
Champion and Reserve
6. Half-Arabian High Point Open Working Western Horse –
Champion and Reserve
7. Half-Arabian High Point Amateur Working Western Horse –
Champion and Reserve
8. All Breed High Point Working Western Horse –
Champion and Reserve
Rules are as follows:
Riders & owners must be members of GCAHA.
The amateur rider must have competed inat least 2 of the 3 GCAHA shows
The horse must have competed in at least 2 of the 3 GCAHA shows
The horse can be shown by any rider- however, when shown in Amateur classes- those points will be tracked for amateur awards. (exception: Junior riders will count for Junior Awards)
Open classes will count towards the open awards for Arabian/Half Arabian.
(Example, if an ATR shows in Open- those points will count towards Open points not both amateur and open.)
All Breed points will count towards All Breed Horse.
Versatility Horse is based on one horse/any rider pair.
(Example, an amateur and their trainer(s) may show on the same horse, both points will count towards versatility)
All- Around Amateur is based on one rider/any horse pair.
(Example, an amateur may ride more than one horse in amateur classes. All points accrued by that rider in amateur classes will count)
For Versatility Horse/All-Around Amateur:
You must have competed in the following categories at 2 of the 3shows
a. Ranch Horse Conformation
b. Cattle Class
c. Any of the Ranch Rail/ Ranch Riding/ Reining/ Trail (Regular or Ranch)
AWARDS – A Champion and Reserve Champion awarded in each category.
Trophy buckles awarded to each High Point Champion and Reserve Champion
Additional awards for Champion and Reserve Champion as donated
The 2024 shows that are included are:
1. GCAHA Spring Fling – March 28-30th
2. GCAHA Summer Working Western – June 29th
3. GCAHA Fall Finale Working Western – Sept. 28-29th
Green Country Arabian Horse Association is an active club meeting the needs of its members for over 25 years.
